Family Science Nights At Your School
Family Science Nights 2023-2024 (PDF)
Invite families in your school district to take part in fun science activities! Staff from the Meadowlands Environment Center will provide programs at your schools. While programs can be geared for different grades levels, families are welcome to bring children of all ages.

The School District will register the participants and collect the fee per child.
Program Fee:
$800 for a maximum of 60 children
$900 for a maximum 60 children for the Mobile Food Lab
Please note: only one program can run a night.
Mobile Food Lab
Make healthy discoveries through hands-on connections to food and healthy eating. Our professional science, art, and cooking instructors use food as the medium to teach a multi-disciplinary STEAM curriculum. Mobile Food Lab programs are tailored toward grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-8.
Tree-Tastic
Have fun and learn about trees! Make Leave prints and a newspaper planter. This program is geared toward students in the 1st -2nd grades; families are welcome to bring siblings of school age.
H2O Olympics
Have fun and learn about the properties of water through games and activities. Compete for prizes! This program is geared toward students in the 2nd grade; families are welcome to bring siblings of school age.
Fish, Fish, Fish
Learn the difference between Chondrichthyes and Osteichthyes, plus all you ever wanted to know about fish. Bring a T-shirt and make a fish print. This program is geared toward students in the 3rd grades; families are welcome to bring siblings of school age.
“Eggs-ellent”
Come and learn about these incredible, edible wonders. Who lays them? How big can they be? How long do they take to hatch? We will play some fun egg games and do an egg craft. This program is geared toward students in the 4th-5th grade; families are welcome to bring siblings of school age.
Astronomical Wonders
Join us for a program that is “out of this world”. Enter our star lab planetarium to view a program on the night sky. We will create star charts, comets and luminaria to take home. This program is geared toward students in the 5th grade; families are welcome to bring siblings of school age.
